1. About Chunks

Chunks helps you learn languages through lexical chunks — ready-made phrases and collocations. It uses AI-powered feedback and spaced repetition to help users build fluency.

These Terms cover both the Chunks website at getchunks.app and the Chunks app for iOS. Both use the same account and the same data.

Chunks is operated by Nikita Kovalchuk.

2. Beta & Pricing

Chunks is currently free to use during its beta period. We may introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future. We will provide reasonable notice before any charges apply.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Chunks, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Accounts and Guest Access

You can start using Chunks without signing up. A guest session creates an anonymous account so your words and progress can be saved, and some features — such as importing a spreadsheet — are available only once you create a full account.

A guest account is tied to the installation you created it on. If you sign out of a guest session, reinstall the app, or switch devices without signing up first, that account and its data cannot be recovered. Signing up converts a guest account and keeps its data.

You are responsible for all activity conducted under your account.

5. Your Content

The words, translations, examples, decks and notes you add stay yours. We do not claim ownership of them.

You can mark a deck as public. Doing so is a choice you make: a public deck, its name, its cover and every word in it become visible to other Chunks users, who may copy words from it into their own libraries. By publishing a deck you grant us the permission needed to host it and show it to other users for that purpose. Making a deck private again stops it being shown, but does not withdraw copies other users have already saved.

Do not publish content you do not have the right to share, or content that is unlawful, hateful, or abusive. We may remove a public deck that breaks this rule. If you believe a public deck infringes your rights, write to us at the address below.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Chunks, including attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, automate access to, or abuse the service or its AI systems.

7. AI-Generated Content

Chunks uses AI to generate translation feedback, explanations, and example sentences. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccurate information and is provided for educational purposes only. Users should review and verify any generated content before relying on it. Chunks does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content.

8. Suspension, Termination & Deletion

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Chunks at any time if these Terms are violated or if we reasonably believe the service is being abused.

You can delete your account yourself at any time — in the app, open Settings, tap your profile, and choose Delete account. Deletion removes your account and your learning data. See the Privacy Policy for what that covers and for the alternative of asking us by email.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Chunks after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability

Chunks is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chunks and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of the service.

By using Chunks, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
